General Questions

Do I get preview before purchase?

Yes, with every product we have a "Live Preview" feature. However, this is only to give you an idea of what it might look like; this is not the end result!

Once the order is placed, the designers will start working on your order manually. Within 24h, we will send you a preview of the design by email. Make sure you have entered a correct email address and also check your spam or promotions inboxes, our email may end up there.

We will make sure you are 100% satisfied. You can request unlimited revisions on the design sample before it is printed. If we can't come to a satisfactory result at this stage, you can cancel the order free of charge

How do I upload a photo?

This is how you upload a photo:

1. Find the Background or Portrait you want.

2. Click the button: Upload your photo

3. Click the button: Choose Image Here

4. A window will pop up to locate the photo on your device.

5. Search the photo you want to use.

6. Press Add to Cart and finish your order!

 

Is my photo good enough?

If you have followed our guidelines for a good photo, the photo will probably be good enough. In addition, your photo will be checked by professional photographers. If the photo does not pass the quality control you will receive an email from us!

Do you only make designs with children?

We can incorporate everything into anything. A photo of your baby, pet, or grandpa? Anything is possible. Our designers are good at what they do.

Can I get more than one person in the picture?

Yes, we can incorporate multiple people into one background, this doesn't cost anything extra!

If they are all in one photo, you can easily place the order through the website.

If it is two separate photos, you can place the order with one of the photos. Then you can email the other photo(s) to us: info@fabulousportrait.com

Where can I find all Backgrounds?

What is the difference between Backgrounds and Portraits?

For the Backgrounds, we use the whole person from the photo you send in. Please make sure that all the body parts that are needed in the background are in the photo.

For the Portraits, we only use the head of the person. Make sure that the full head is visible and that the photo is taken at eye level.

When will it be delivered?

The total ordering process takes approximately 6 - 12 business days. 

After your order has been placed the designers will get to work, and send you a design preview by email within 24h. 

Once accepted, it takes about 1 week to ship. 

In case you did not receive an email within 24h, please check your spam or promotions inbox, or check if you have entered the correct email address. Still haven't received anything? Then please contact us

Where is my order?

The process to create the design will take 24 - 48 hours. We will send the design preview by email, where you can accept the design to be printed or ask for any changes you like.

If the design preview email hasn't arrived in your inbox, we suggest to search through your junk, spam or promotions folders, as they occasionally end up there.

Not received the email? Check if your email address is entered correctly at your order page and contact us.

 

 

If you received all emails and the tracking link you can track the package via that link. If you entered the wrong shipping address, the package may not arrive.

Please contact us asap if you think you entered the wrong shipping address!

Do you have Gift Certificates?

Yes, we do have Digital Gift Cards. These are issued electronically by email and each contains a unique voucher number.

Our gift cards are ideal if you’re not sure what to get that special person in your life, or if you don't have the photo available of that person.
Simply buy a gift voucher instead for the value of $10, $25, $50, $100 or $150.

Gift Cards are redeemable to cover an order in-part or in-full and are redeemable for 1 full year from the date of purchase.

Please note: Gift Cards are emailed to you digitally and that we do not print and ship physical gift cards or certificates.

You cannot apply a Gift Card and use a discount code on the same order.

Placing an Order

Is my photo good enough?

If you have followed our guidelines for a good photo, the photo will probably be good enough. In addition, your photo will be checked by professional photographers. If the photo does not pass the quality control you will receive an email from us!

What is the Live Preview Mode?

The 'Live Preview Mode' is a tool where the computer automatically removes the background from your photo. This is purely meant to give you an idea of what it might look like in the basics. 

Don't hold on to this preview too much: 
The live preview on the website is very basic and not the final result. Our design team always manually creates the design.

They cut out the subject in a detailed way and place it in the new background. Furthermore, colors are adjusted, shadows placed, effects and photo filters applied. Also, if the image needs to be flipped / mirrored, they will handle that!

Within 24 hours of placing the order, you will receive a preview for approval, request adjustments or try it with a different photo!

Do you offer background requests?

We cannot offer other backgrounds on request at this time. Also, due to copyright laws, we cannot use backgrounds from movies, sports teams, or other proprietary brands.

Can I get more than one person in the picture?

We can incorporate multiple people into one background, this doesn't cost anything extra!

If they are both in one photo, you can easily place the order through the website.

If it is two separate photos, you can place the order with one of the two photos. Then you can email the other photo to us (info@fabulousportrait.com) or send it through the chat on our website.

Do you also design with adults?

Absolutely! We also do designs with babies, adults, the elderly, and even pets; basically anything you can think of!

Will the items in the cart be saved?

We keep your shopping cart for 14 days.

Did my order go through?

After placing your order, you will be taken to your Order Confirmation page, and an email will be sent with your order number to the email address you just provided during checkout.

How do I place an order?

To order a beautiful piece of art that will amaze the whole family is simple by following the next steps: 

Step 1:

Pick out your favorite background. You can filter by different categories for convenience.

Step 2: 

Upload your photo by pressing 'UPLOAD YOUR PHOTO'. 
Use this photo guide for the best results. 

Once the photo is uploaded, your photo will enter the 'Live Preview' mode. This will give you an idea of what the result might look like in a very basic way. You can move and resize your photo by using the buttons. 
Note: This is not the end result, our designers will always design from scratch. 

Step 3:

Press Add to Cart to add the item to your cart.
If you want to order more items, please press 'Continue Shopping'. Do not use the back button; sometimes the upload for the second item will not work anymore. 

Step 4:

Leave a note for our designers if needed. e.g., "Please only use the person on the right." 

And continue to Checkout. 

Step 5:

Fill in your information at the Checkout Page.
You have the choice to create an account, we do recommend this, so you can easily review your order. 

 

Step 6:

Choose your favorite payment method, and fill in your payment details.

Please note when you want to order it as a gift to someone else's address, that you use your own billing address. 

DONE ✅  🎉 

Your order has been placed, and we will get to work on it as soon as possible. Please check to see if the confirmation email was received, it may have ended up in your Spam or Promotional inbox.

Within 24h, the design team will send a sample proof design to your email address. You can then request unlimited changes or approve the design.

After approval, we will prepare the order for printing and shipping! 📦 

About My Order

Can I upgrade in size?

If you want the canvas a size larger after ordering, it is possible, as long as the design has not yet been approved by you. 

You can request this on the design page by posting a comment and rejecting the design. 

Please also send us a chat message or email with what size you would like. 

If you would like a size larger after the design is approved, please contact us as soon as possible. We may still be able to stop the order, but we cannot guarantee this. 

My portrait is a Gift, can I add a message to the order?

Due to many automatic processes, it is not possible to add a private message to your order. 

Can I change my shipping address?

You can still change your shipping address until the design is approved. 

After design approval, this is no longer possible.

Can I change my billing address?

Please note during the ordering process whether your billing address should be the same as the shipping address or not. 

After placing your order, we can' t change the billing address anymore. This is due to security and fraud prevention. 

If it is absolutely necessary that the billing address must be changed, then you must cancel your order and re-order it. This is only possible in the phase before the design is approved. 

I haven't received the preview by email!

About the Product

What material is it made of?

The designs will be printed on canvas wrapped around a wooden frame.

The indoor Canvas fabrics are printed on high quality matt poly cotton canvas. The mix of cotton (65%) and polyester (35%) gives the Canvas cloth a characteristic natural look. The odourless HP Latex ink is environmentally friendly and makes the colours stand out!

The thickness of the canvas is 0.75"

The canvases are available in the following sizes: 

Small 8" x 12"
Medium 12" x 18"
Large 16" x 24"
Extra large 24" x 36"

Other materials

We do have other materials to print on, like posters, aluminum, acrylic, puzzles and many more.

Does it come framed?

Yes, it's canvas wrapped around a wooden frame, with mounting system included, ready to hang.

Payment

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept the following credit cards: MasterCard, Visa, American Express and Discover. We also accept payment by PayPal or Amazon Pay. If you decide to use either of these two methods, you’ll be taken to either the PayPal or Amazon Pay website, where you’ll be prompted to log in and process your payment. You’ll then be directed back to our merchant website once your transaction is complete.

Why was my payment declined?

In cases where a card is being refused, and it's not a problem of funds, we find that it's mainly to do with limits on your card. Our headquarters are in the Netherlands, and credit card providers in other countries may sometimes reject purchases from international businesses as part of their fraud protection services.

 
A quick call to your credit card company should be enough to clarify the situation or allow you to approve an international transaction.

If that's not working, we will suggest to try to order again using a different card, or to check out using PayPal or Amazon Pay.
You don't need a PayPal account to use it. Just add your card and this will get your order through without any problems.

How to use a gift card or promo code?

If you have a gift card or discount code you can use it during checkout. 

The box for entering this code can be found above choosing your payment method for mobile users and on the right side for computer users.

Shipping and Delivery

How long does the delivery take?

The total ordering process takes approximately 6 - 12 business days. 

After your order has been placed the designers will get to work, and send you a design preview by email within 24h for approval. 
You'll receive a Tracking Link a few days after approval. 

Once approved, it takes about 1 week to ship.

Can I track my order?

Yes, all orders are shipped with tracking information. You'll receive the tracking number, as well as delivery updates, via email.

Can I ship to multiple addresses?

Due to the way our products are processed, made, and packaged, they unfortunately cannot be split into separate parcels and sent to multiple addresses. 

Should you need your books to be sent to different addresses, you'll need to place the orders separately.

Can I change my shipping address?

You can still change your shipping address until the design is approved. 

After design approval, this is no longer possible.

Where are your products made and ship from?

The products are produced in Detroit, MI for US customers. 

Furthermore, for other countries, we have partnered with 120 production companies worldwide, to produce locally and ensure high quality and fast delivery!

Will all items ship together?

In most cases, yes – they’ll all arrive in the same parcel.

Unfortunately, sometimes our courier will not ship multiple items together. 
Please be patient and contact us again if you haven't received your other canvas within 3 business days. 

I received half of my order, what to do?

First, take a look at your tracking information. Sometimes the courier will put the package in a safe place around your house or neighbors if you are not home.

Which countries do you ship to?

We can ship to almost any country in the world where secure and local shipping companies operate. 

What happens if I'm not home for delivery?

Depending on your shipping method, and the carrier delivering your parcel, your order will either be left in a safe and secure place at your delivery address, or a notification card will be left with details on how to retrieve your parcel.

What postal carriers do you ship with?

For US, we ship with UPS or USPS. 

Canada: Canada Post
United Kingdom: Evri (Hermes)
Australia: Australia Post
New Zealand: NZ Post / NZ Couriers

 

Returns

Can I return or exchange an item?

Due to the customized nature of all the products we produce at Fabulous Portrait, we cannot offer returns. Your artwork is designed with care and is entirely personal to you.

If you are unhappy with your final product, then please get in touch with us. Customer satisfaction is one of our passions, and we always endeavor to make sure you're happy with the final masterpiece.

If you received the wrong product, incorrect size or print, or your product was damaged in transit, we will of course replace it without question. Please let us know within 48 hours of receiving your order in this case.

What if I don't like the design?

We make sure that you are 100% satisfied. We will send you the preview 24 hours after placing the order, and you can request unlimited modifications before it is printed. You have also the option to try a different photo or change the background, just let the designers know what you want using the comment box at the design approval page. 

If you still don't like the design at that point, you can cancel the order free of charge.

Once you have pressed the Approve button, the design is final, and we will send it to you. So watch carefully!
